INDUCTION LOOP SYSTEMS.
n Introduction To The Loop System
An audio induction loop system or often referred to as a hearing loop, is a specialized system that can be implemented in a business, public area or even your home and is specifically designed to enable those requiring hearing aids with a crisp, high quality hearing environment. The way this system works is by providing a wireless magnetic signal to the user to receive while their hearing aid is switched to the “T” setting, or telecoil setting. While receiving this signal the user can expect to hear sounds more clearly due to the drastic cutback in background noise.
So how exactly does it work?
1. A source of sound, for example the voice of a presenter is captured using either a microphone or a line out connection. (see diagram 1.1)
2. The source is connected to an Audio Induction Loop driver (see diagram 1.2). The driver generates a current that delivers a signal to a looped area of the room made from copper tape or wire.
3. The looped area then produces a magnetic field around the audience (see diagram 1.3).
4. The magnetic field produced by the induction loop system is received by a telecoil (or T-coil) inside each audience members hearing aid creating an environment without background noise and the full spectrum of sound frequencies.
User Benefits
The Induction Loop System enables the user to reap the benefits of the full spectrum of sound frequencies, listed below are some of the main functions the system highlights.
1 | Ease of use: To empower the listener, simply have them switch to the telecoil program to automatically activate the loop system and enable the user with an unmatched level of audio quality. The implementation of a loop system will remove the need to stand in a line and wait for a lended headset or pair of earbuds. Loop systems create a uniquely accessible listening experience for anybody with a hearing impairment.
2 | Hygiene: Tying tightly into ease of use, a cut back on the distribution of lender headsets and earbuds will greatly decrease the spread of any unwanted bacteria from one person to the next. Where the world currently stands, hygiene is more important than ever, and a better focus on personal hygiene has become a larger part of many peoples lives, a loop system removes these problems all together.
3 | Discreet: The hearing loop system renders clearer hearing completely inconspicuous, providing a sense of inclusion to those who may be uncomfortable standing out in a crowd as hard of hearing. This can open a door for greater participation in the hearing loop community.
4 | Versatility: One of the hearing loop’s greatest feats is the massive spectrum of environments it can inhabit to improve the quality of life for those who are hard of hearing. Some examples are.
Locations
The Induction Loop System is highly flexible and can be implimented into a number of diffrent location options. Some of the more popular locations are,
